Nearly overgrown paths run through the woods near Olde Izaak Walton Park, just enough to see your way. They wind along the ever-mild Tuscarora Creek before ending near Brandon Park, which is just a field and playground.
It had been raining steadily for almost 3 weeks when I made this hike, so I pushed my way through rain-soaked branches and had my ankles lashed by wet prickers. But I was alone with nature, and the pond at the park is always a lovely sight to behold. Several swallows swooped in aerial acrobatics over the pond for my entire stay.
