I had little time to explore Occoquan Regional, just enough to park and walk up steep incline and along a ridge covered by pines.

The trail's wide and easy to follow, though it's a steep climb for a few dozen feet to reach it. Another paved path runs along the base of the ridge next to the (very long!) road leading into the park, which is easy to walk but not particularly scenic.

Unfortunately, the park was under construction while I was there, which cut off access to the trail leading the other direction.

I feel frustrated; this is clearly a park that would benefit from a longer stay and more extensive exploration. Soon, I hope!
