Ball's Bluff is a satisfying park to hike. Lots of places to explore, and as long as you stay on the north "battlefield" side (as I did on this hike), you won't get lost.
Even better, you get to learn some local history while you wander between field and forest. You even get to choose between slightly rolling trails and steep, deeply rutted dirt paths.
It's fairly popular, too, but not so much that you'll be surrounded by crowds. Very, very pleasant.
