What a wonderful discovery!
Fred Crabtree Park sits next to an elementary school, and its dirt paths wind through a large, quiet forest (at least, it's quiet in late July when school's out).
I walked the trail that starts at the far end of the parking lot, at one corner of a sports field. A stream roughly parallels the school, so it's hard to get lost, at least if you're not spending hours wandering through the woods. There are quite a few paths, though, so keep an eye on your surroundings.
